Scottish Rock - Skye & Applecross and SNOWDON HORSESHOE

On Sunday Luke took Barry around the Snowdon Horseshoe, they had fair weather with the sun teasing them for most of the day and finally poking through by mid afternoon.

With warmer temperatures and the arrival of the weekend we decided to head rock climbing - Scottish winter is over for us! Conditions are still good high on the Ben with routes like Smith's, Indicator Wall, Good Friday Climb, Green and Comb gullies getting climbed. Having never climbed on Skye we took the risk and headed there on a showery forecast - it paid off, Broadford was very wet, but Elgol had a blue sunny sky over head. We headed to a great little crag (30m routes) just south of Elgol. We enjoyed fine views of a cloud topped Cuillin Ridge and warm rock.

With *** routes on the crag climbed we decided to head north to Neist.

Rain on it's way at Neist

Two routes climbed and the rain began to pour, so we headed back to the van for a brew - every time we thought the rain had let up and it had been dry to climb another shower would hit, so we packed up and headed to the Applecross Inn for a drink and some more *** climbing up there.
